FAQ Erasmus Mobility and COVID
|Will towels and bed lines be provided at the accommodation?||Yes provided. The Residences are fully equipped.|
|Where and how can I wash my clothes?||Depending on the Residences, a laundry is available on site.2 Residences over 3 have this possibility. Registration in one residence is proposed by ALFMED upon availability.|
|Will WiFi be available in the apartment?||Yes provided.|
|Do I have to pay a deposit for the apartment/host family room?||Yes, we ask for a 50 eur depositi upon arrival. This is given back upon departure if no problem|
|Will I receive a key for the apartment? How and when and how will I receive the key upon arrival?||We pick up students upon arrival at the trainstation /airport/bus station so to drive them to the Residence where they recieve the keys.|
|Can I bring a friend overnight to my accommodation?||This is limited to 2 nights, upon agreement in advance by ALFMED. 10 eur/night contibution is demanded.|
|Can I spend some days away in a hotel if my parents come for a visit?||Yes definietly but the Internship is still running so no interruption (except if agreement set with the Ho company taht ALFMEd should be aware of)|
|Will I receive a ticket for the public transport or can the ticket be reimbursed by you?||Public transport is directly financed by the participant|
|Where and when does my first day start? What happens on the first day?||Firts day with us starts with a Tutoring meeting at ALFMED, guided visit of the city, Oral Cv workshop to help the participant to present him/herself to the HO company Tutor. An interviwe appointment is arranged and we go with you to the appointment in order to check : the participant self presentation (with basic french or eventually in english) – time table- manage paperwork – manage logistics and clear out all the internship tasks – make sure contact details are ok between participant and Tutor – clarify questions the participant would have : we tranlate from French/English if needed so the participant can cover all topics/issues|
|Can I change my internship company or my accomodation (flat/apartment) if I am not satisfied? Whom do I have to contact?||We pay a lot of attention to the matching participant profile/Ho-company so to avoid such problem (1/ internship questionnaire online + skype interview with the participant prior to arrival). But anyway if a problem occurs, our Eramus officer has a meeting with the participant and talks with the Ho-company. If change is necessary, it is managed within a few days.
If a problem occurs with accommodation Residence, our Accommodation officer manages it.
|Can I change my host familiy? Whom do I have to contact?||No hostfamily is provided.|
|Is it possible to cook in the apartment?
(if host family:) Do I always have to eat together with my host family?
|Yes all of our Erasmus Residences are fully equipped with a kitchen (all equipment provided).|
|Do I have to bring my own laptop or other required work-relate equipment/tools in order to properly carry out my work abroad?||Most of the time a laptop is not required , it depends. Especially when translation or research tasks are planned, better to use your own laptop with qwerty keyboard (in France we use azerty keyboard). Also if Covid potantial situation, better to have its own laptop if smartworking (working form your residence) is needed (it can happen 2 days a week for example).|
|How many hours do I have to work daily?||35 h/week, 40h/week for the catering industry.|
|Is there an emergency number of the host organisation I can contact 24/7?||YES, an emergency number 24/7 is given, managed by the manager Florence.|
|Will I need to be vaccinated against Corona/COVID-19 to be able to participate in an Erasmus+ learning experience (in 2021)?
If yes, what kind of proof will be asked for?
|By now, March 2021, no vaccination is requested in France for an internship.|
|Will I need a (negative) COVID-19 test result before entering my host country? If yes, which language(s) will be acceptable? (German, English, host country’s language?)
Do I need to have appointments for further testing upon entering my host country?
Do I need to register in a database before travelling to my host country?
Will there be a quarantine period upon entering my host country? If yes, can that period be cut short by doing a test after arrival?
Costs for testing?
|A negative Covid-19 test result is requested (done 72h prior to arrival) in English (or French).
No further Test is requested when in the country.
Once in the country, if the participant has symptoms, Doctor visit + Covid-19 test is requested.
|Where in my host country and by whom can I be tested?
Is an antigen-test sufficient or must it be a PCR-test?
|We have a testing center close to the academy so testing PCR can be done in a very short term. Antigen-test is not sufficient.|
|Who carries the costs for testing in my host country? How big are the fees?||With the European Social card you can do a Covid-test 19 at the public hospital without having to pay. Eventually if you pay, the cost is 60 eur and you can ask to be reimbursed once back in your home EU-country (with the invoice)|
